Warning Effective From 1200hrs 11/04/2019
Effective Period Expires 1200hrs 15/04/2019
Arising from dry and sunny conditions associated with high current pressure dominated weather, a high fire risk is deemed to exist in all areas where hazardous fuels such as dead grasses and shrub fuels (heather and gorse) exist.
Based on current ECWMF forecasts, this risk is projected to peak on Sunday, April 14th, particularly in Western and Northern regions. Based on recent incidents, most ignition risks appear to be associated with illegal burning of upland vegetation, particularly on lands associated with turf cutting. Fire spread rates and behaviour can be expected to increase considerably, in line with high forecast wind speeds and low humidity associated with the current easterly high pressure pattern and airflows.
