Western Forestry Co-op are delighted to be developing and managing Cloonamahon Native Woodland Park on behalf of the HSE. The stakeholders in the project are the HSE who gave generously of their land for this public amenity to be created, Coillte (replanting native woodland adjacent to Cloonamahon), Western Forestry Co-op and Sligo County Council. Indeed we believe in this project so much that we bought 23 acres of land adjoining Cloonamahon to create a “Model Forest” of many different woodland types and management which will also be connected in to Cloonamahon and open for people to view. It will truly be a wonderful woodland park for many generations to come. Work has started so follow our page for regular updates. We will also be holding a series of open days here in the Autumn on the native woodland, establishment works and grant schemes available, plus more.
